Treasurer’s Report January 1, 2008 to February 28, 2009

Noelle Trahan / Wecom – read the 2008 Treasurer’s Report to the membership.
Don Sehulster / Mohave Wireless – motion to accept treasurer’s report as read by Noelle Trahan.
Rick Wigglesworth / KAUA Vice President – seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.

Technical Report

Technical Report read to KAUA members by Rick Wigglesworth / KAUA Vice President.
Don Sehulster / Mohave Wireless – motion to accept technical report as read by Rick Wigglesworth.
Jeff Matheson / Frontier – seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.

Road Committee Report

Road Committee Report read by Colton Kincheloe / Kincheloe Construction.
Hayden – Colton reported to the members about the work that needs to be done in the upcoming year. This included snow removal, work to the water bars, removal of rocks in roadway, fill in wash out areas, and general grading.
Goldroad – Colton reported to the members about the work that needs to be done in the upcoming year. This includes general grading and smoothing out the road.
Colton Kincheloe was identified to be the road contractor for the road work to be done in 2009.
Buddy Ortiz / El Paso – motion to accept the road committee report as read by Colton Kincheloe.
Jim Matheson / Frontier – seconded.
Motion passed unanimously.

Standing of Members

All members in good standing with the exception of the following: American Tower, Murphy Broadcasting, Mohave County Television District, Burlington Northern Santa Fe, and Radio Communications Service.

New Business:

Inspections

Hualapai, Getz, and Potato Patch inspections to be held on June 10, 2009 @ 9:00 am for Hayden and @ 1:00 pm for Getz.
Goldroad Crest inspection to be held on May 12, 2009 @ 9:00 am.

Road Assessments

· Noelle Trahan / Wecom recommended that the assessment for Hayden be increased to $12,000.00 and that the assessment for Goldroad remain the same at $5,000.00.
· Buddy Ortiz / El Paso – motion to accept the road assessment amounts recommended by Noelle.
· Don Sehulster / Mohave Wireless – seconded.
· Motion passed unanimously.

BLM Rent Agreements

· Andy / BLM handed out the billing schedule and reviewed with the members. Members were reminded to file all required paperwork with BLM in a timely manner to avoid penalties and paperwork issues. Payments are due to BLM by January 15th each year.
· Jim Vine / Vine Communications discussed his concern on the billing cycle.
· For more information regarding regulations and fees set forth visit the BLM website: www.blm.gov and search for ‘communications sites’. A link will also be added to the KAUA website.
· Call Joyce Cook / BLM or Andy / BLM with questions in regards to fees and payments.

Election of Officers

· Buddy Ortiz / El Paso made a motion to keep all officers as elected in the previous year.
· Richard K – seconded.
· Motion passed unanimously.

Committees

· Financial Committee – Noelle Trahan / Wecom / KAUA Treasurer
· Rick Wigglesworth / KAUA Vice President motion to accept Financial Committee.
· Don Sehulster / Mohave Wireless – seconded.
· Motion passed unanimously.
· Technical Committee – Rick Wigglesworth / KAUA Vice President, Ken McLaughlin / KAUA President, and Jack Trahan / Wecom.
· Don Sehulster / Mohave Wireless motion to accept Technical Committee.

· Motion passed unanimously.
· Road Committee – Jack Trahan / Wecom, Colton Kincheloe / Kincheloe Construction, and Buddy Ortiz / El Paso.

BLM Fire

· Andy Reaves / BLM discussed the upcoming plans for BLM Fire for Hazzard Fuel Reduction. They are planning to complete a pile burning as well as a small understory burning around the sites.
· A mailing will be sent out to the KAUA members with more information.
· Andy Reaves / BLM is planning to attend the inspections with KAUA in order to gather any additional information regarding the sites. Members are welcome to be present to bring any concerns to BLM’s attention.
· Members are to maintain their sites within 10-15 feet.
· Thinning will extend from 15-200 feet from the sites.
· Pile burns will be done 200-300 feet from the sites.
· Bring any concerns regarding cables on the ground to Andy’s attention prior to the burn.

Concerns Regarding Mohave Electric

· Jim Vine / Vine Communications discussed problems relating to power lines owned by Mohave Electric.
